Introducing The MA.STRUM Two Pocket Overshirt

The MA.STRUM Two Pocket Overshirt features a piece dyed cotton fabric as well as the British designer brands signature detachable branding.

The overshirt has become an incredibly popular casual menswear style over the last 10 years or so thanks to British designer brands like MA.STRUM. The military inspiration of the overshirt, or shacket as it is sometimes called, means the style usually features two large functional pockets to the front. Great for storing ammunition, cigarettes & maps etc in the jungles of Korea for the military back in the 1950s, but also a great feature for everyday wear and function. The military inspired overshirt was first introduced as part of the “modern day” casual look back in the 1990s courtesy of designer brands across the continent. This latest ‘Two Pocket’ overshirt from MA.STRUM gives a nod to the original sportswear designs of the 90s which now lands at 80s Casual Classics.

Founded back in 2008 by John Sharpe, originally as a partnership with the Massimo Osti Archive, MA. STRUM draws on everything we love from the original Osti designs of the 1980s and 1990s, from military influences to technical fabrics and the latest garment innovation. As well as re-releasing classic 80s designer casual brands such as Boneville, the British based designer brand has gained a loyal following from those in the know for their military inspired silhouettes, state of the art fabrics and unique dyeing processes. Now under the creative direction of Mohsin Ali who has worked in various designs roles from New York to Italy, Ali’s research and design background with his strong belief in the 3 F’s (Form, Function & Fabric) marks the next chapter for the British designer brand.

The latest season sees the brand turn its attention once again to the classic overshirt and we can’t get enough of them. Even though the brand is now completely independent from the Massimo Osti Archive, the Osti inspiration is still alive & kicking. Putting their own unique stamp on the classic military overshirt, MA.STRUM re-introduce their iconic two pocket overshirt for 2023. Featuring a piece-dyed cotton fabric in a range of colourways such as ink navy & tea green the overshirt also features two large flap pockets to the front & signature ID branding to the right shoulder.
