The Diadora B.Elite Dominio Trainer Features a Unique Wax Treatment

Dropping as part of Diadora's prestigious 'Heritage' range, the B.Elite Dominio trainer pays homage to the original Borg silhouette from the early 1980s.

For those who have followed the 80s Casual Classics story from the very beginning when Danny Dyer burst onto our screens dressed head to toe in casual sportswear you will know of the significance of the Diadora Borg Elite. As a world renowned, specialist retro retailer the Borg Elite has played a key role in our revival of classic SKU's from the golden era of one-upmanship. As far as OG casual trainers from the 1970s & 1980s are concerned, the Borg Elite has remained numero uno, held in high regard from the original wearers in their teens back in the day to modern day retro trainer fans. With its tennis royalty connection and elitist 'Made in Italy' appeal the Borg Elite is something like the Casual equivalent of the Air Jordan to Hypebeasts or a pair of Dr. Martens to Skinheads. Following various revival releases at 80s Casual Classics, this latest release sees the Borg Eilite go even more premium courtesy of the B.Elite Dominio which now arrives with all its OG Casual charm.

Before the originals Casuals took in the Borg Elite trainer as their very own, the Elite had already earned its stripes with the elite tennis world. The 1970s saw the competition to create the greatest tennis shoe really heat up following on from the success of the Stan Smith from adidas. Sportswear brands' like Diadora went head to head to create the comfiest court shoe. It was all about performance, comfort, breathability, traction & speed. Diadora went all in with the introduction of the Elite trainer in 1976. Worn by the likes of Guillermo Vilas & Bjorn Borg, the Elite was a instant hit. When the Borg Elite landed in 1981, the timing couldn't have been better. A signature shoe for the Swedish tennis legend which featured breathable uppers, a unique carbon injected sole & a self adjusting speed lacing system. Thanks to a combination of casual panache & premium materials, the Borg Elite was one of the most expensive court trainers available on the market at the time.
